Our program runs September thru May, from 9:00 a.m.–11:45 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. Each class has a combination of free-choice as well as teacher-directed activities. The work of a child is PLAY!  At WWP we create an environment where the children explore and create together with skilled, caring adults. The children learn new skills that foster their emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development. Community building is an integral part of our program.

Pre-Kindergarten: 4 year olds (must be 4 as of September 1st)

The Butterflies Class consists of free play, small and large group activities, where the children gain skills in pre-reading, pre-writing, early math and science, social/emotional awareness, and motor skills. Options include 3, 4, or 5 mornings per week, 9:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m., Lunch Bunch until 1:00 p.m. and 2 extended days until 2:45 p.m.

Preschool: 3 year olds (must be 3 as of September 1st)

The Caterpillar Class allows children to develop many skills through play, such as; learning to use their words and solve problems, being creative through art, building, dramatic play, exploring their environment and using their small and large muscles. Options include 2, 3, or 4 mornings per week, 9:00 a.m.–12:00, Lunch Bunch until 1:00 p.m. and 2 extended days until 2:45 p.m.

Toddlers: 2 year olds (must be 2 as of September 1st)

The Ladybugs Class provides your toddler with an opportunity to spend time with other children his or her age in a loving, supportive environment. This time of quality play interaction provides a healthy foundation for the coming school years. Options include 1, 2, or 3 mornings per week, 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., Lunch Bunch until 1:00 p.m.

Lunch Bunch

Lunch Bunch is an optional program 12:00–1:00 for all ages.  Lunch Bunch is a social time of eating together. Good manners and interesting conversation is encouraged. Children bring their own lunch from home. We ask that all food be nut free.

Afternoon Adventures (Beginning in Fall 2019)

Afternoon Adventures is an optional extended day program for the Caterpillars (3’s) and Butterflies (4’s) on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 2:45 p.m.  During this time we’ll have a little quiet time with books and soft music, an extended large muscle time in the gym or on the playground and more creative adventures!

We believe quality preschool should be available to and affordable for all families. Using the tuition guide, each family commits to a monthly tuition based on their income and family size. All families are also encouraged to make an additional Fair Share donation to Whittier Wildflowers that is voluntary and tax-deductible. This Biblical approach is anchored in academic and economic equity, and our love for one another. In addition to other donations raised by the school, this model results in affordable tuition and a sustainable program with high quality teachers. See the Tuition Guide for more details.

The newly renovated classrooms and playground are located at Calvary Church
